Rahu, Rahu Kalam and Rahu Timings
As per Vedic Indian Astrology, a certain period of each day is considered inauspicious for any new venture. This inauspicious period is known as Rahu Kalam or Rahu Kaal. According to Hindu mythology, Rahu is a snake that swallows the Sun causing eclipse. Rahu Kalam is considered unlucky because it is associated with evil, Rahu. The Rahu Kalam is different for each day of the week and Rahu Timings vary from place to place.
