It was to be launched in 2014, but was delayed due to technical reasons.

Force Viano • Price, Variants & Specifications

Though the company hasn’t revealed the price of Viano, market experts say that it is expected to lie somewhere between Rs 9 lakh and Rs 11 lakh (ex showroom price). The vehicle may be launched in different trim levels so as to offer choices to the customers. While there is nothing new in the engine, the exterior has been made a little different from the Mercedes model.

Expected Price view Rs.9.0 lakh - 11.00 lakh

Exterior

Viano is a big minivan that is attractive and luxurious. According to the pictures leaked by an auto portal, the car sports highly styled taillamps and headlamps. It might have a chrome radiator grille, body colored bumper & doors and external rear view mirrors. The company has given fresh looks to the headlight cluster, sliding door and handles. Like any other four wheeler, it is expected to have standard braking features - disc brakes for the front wheels and standard drum brakes for the rear wheels.

Interior

The cabin can accommodate eight people (ratio 2:3:3). Fine leather and upholstery cover the seats. Facilities such as mobile charger unit, power steering, USB/AUX, air conditioner, power windows, remote central locking, FM radio, music player and 12V power socket are present. As seen from the spy pictures, the interior looks quite spacious.

Features and Specifications

The Viano will be powered by FMTECH 2.2-liter diesel engine, the same that powers the SX and TX variants of the model Force One. It is a 16 valve engine that uses direct injection. It has been made under the license from German automobile company Daimler AG. The peak power is 141 PS at 3,800 rpm. The torque is class leading and is equal to 321 Nm between 1,600 Nm and 2,400 Nm. It is accompanied by the gearbox G32/5 speed synchromesh along with cable shift. It has a high power-to-weight ratio and enables the car to hit the top speed of 160 km/hr. The mileage is 13 km per liter for city and 17 km per liter on the highway.

The car is based on a Mercedes model, hence buyers will have high expectations for safety features and driving dynamics. But the company might not meet these expectations, as only the top version will come standard with  the anti lock braking system and the electronic brake force distribution system. Other safety features are key less entry, tinted glass, power door locks, central locking, seat belts, collapsible steering system, day-night rear view mirror and some advanced other features.
