Ford Figo , that goes by the code name B562, hit the Indian markets in March 2010 and went on to become a huge success. By July that year, this model had a whopping 25,000 bookings all over the country. It was awarded Indian Car of the Year in 2011 and Ford gave an uplift to the car in 2012. Now Ford is ready to launch a newer version of Figo this year, most probably in September. In Brazil, it has been revealed as the Ka Concept. It has already made its debut at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo Show. The latest Figo will replace the currently available Figo in India and the other markets as well. Ford hopes to boost its sales with this new launch. It will be manufactured at Ford’s new facility that is located in Sananad in Gujarat.

New Figo, available as Ka Concept in Brazil, is priced between 35,390 BRL and 39,990 BRL. Brazil has got this model in two trim levels namely SE and SEL. New Figo is based on the platform Mk5 Fiesta. The company has brought about changes in both the exterior as well as the interior. It borrows looks from the new generation Fiesta and also models like Focus and Mondeo.

Just like the new generation Ford Fiesta, the New Figo has a front grille that resembles that of the Aston Martin models. The exterior is inspired by Focus, Fiesta and Mondeo. The concept earlier revealed by the company sported horizontal slats that were chrome plated. But the upcoming model will have honeycomb grille. The features such as bumpers, LED headlamps and some other design cues are similar to those present on such models. A distinctive mirror element can be seen in the headlights, though the design is the same as seen on the concept. The roof line heads in the direction of trunk lid and the prominent lines give the car a powerful look. In the rear, the company has incorporated large taillamps and an attractive spoiler. The look is complete with smart 15-inch alloy wheels.
Coming inside the cabin, the car has Bluetooth and USB connectivity along with My Ford Dock. The driver’s seat is height adjustable. The center console features silver inserts. The new steering wheel is three spoke and multifunctional. SYNC multimedia system by Ford is also present.
Features and Specifications
The New Figo is powered by the EcoBoost 3-cylinder 1.0 liter engine (non-turbo) that is naturally aspirated. It runs on ethanol and gasoline. The peak power output is 79 bhp. As for the diesel version, the company offers TDCI turbo diesel 1.5-liter engine. Both the engines come with five-speed manual transmission. There is possibility that the automakers might continue with the engines currently being offered in India- 1.2-litre petrol and 1.4-litre diesel engines. The car is equipped with electronic stability control and Knife-type key is accompanied by remote controls.
