Honda Brio • Price, Variants & Specifications
The Honda Brio Automatic, the automatic version of Honda's flagship car was launched on the 18th of October, 2012. The car is available in two variants- the MT and the AT. The former is the mid- range car and the latter is the higher end one. The former is priced at 5.74 lakh and the latter is priced at 5.99 Lakh. The automatic car comes mated with a five speed automatic gearbox. The Brio EX, which is the manual transmission version of the car has also been launched. So, currently, a person who wishes to buy a Brio can choose between the 2 transmission versions.
Engine & Performance
The engine is the same as the old Brio- the 1.2 liter i-VTEC unit. The car's engine is capable of producing around 88PS at 4500 rpm and it generates a maximum torque of 109 Nm at 4500 rpm. The engine's rev is quite good- certainly one of the best on a hatchback to date. The manual variant is, also, really good- probably the best accelerant in the manual hatchback market. The car's engine is connected to a 5- speed torque convertor. This is the first time a torque convertor has been merged with a hatchback engine. This is a system like the one found in the Honda City, which is well known to provide people with smooth rides. The transmission of the car has the regular D mode, and there are three more driving modes. The D3 mode is one in which the gearbox will shift between the 1st and 2nd gear. 2 mode is in which the car stays at the 2nd gear and in mode 1 it does not shift beyond the 1st gear. The car has really good transmission and it is quite pleasurable to drive the car in the highway as well. The engine provides for a fuel economy of 16.5 kmpl, for the AT and 19kmpl for the MT.
Features & Specifications
One can get as much comfort as possible from a car of the size of Brio. The car is capable of seating five people without any trouble. The car is one of the smallest hatchbacks available around. The car has really good exterior and it has quite a striking design as well. The rear portion of the car is slightly wider than the front, which gives the car a more unique, pointed look. The car is made out of really good quality material- material better than one would expect from a car of its' range. There is a lot of space in the interior as well ,and as mentioned, it is big enough to fit five adults. There is storage space as well, but it is quite small. The small boot makes it a little tough for people to go on longer trips on the car itself. The only other complaint that one has heard about the car is the fact that the tail- gate glass does not have any frame. The car is incredibly light and it is possible for one to maneuver the car easily- which makes the car a pleasure to drive in traffic.
