Hyundai Tucson • Price, Variants & Specifications

The Hyundai is set to launch its new age Tucson in India after the success of Sante Fa Sport. Hyundai Tucson is a compact crossover that offers style and composed handling. The 5-seater Tucson generates amazing power and demonstrates smooth dynamic performance. The vehicle priced between Rs.17 and 20 lakh is known for its durability and easy maintenance.

Engine and performance

The Tucson comes with two power trains- the 2L and 2.4L motors. The 2L engine is capable of generating 170 bhp of power where as the other option is the 2.4L power mill that churns out 182 bhp of power. In India, the Tucson, in all probability, will come with the 2L CRDi diesel engine that gives optimum performance and better fuel economy. The motor is expected to be mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, though the company may offer the automatic later. The car comes with a 4-wheel drive mechanism and the fuel efficiency has to be somewhere near 10 kmpl. Hyundai has fitted Tucson with SACHS amplitude selective dampers for improved ride comfort and agile handling.

Exteriors

On the outside, the Tucson is modern and sharp and it follows the Fluidic design philosophy. The car sports elegant looks with elongated headlamps and fog lamps. The bonnet has smooth curves at the ends and there lies a small grill at the bottom of the bonnet that sports the brand logo followed by the trapezium-shaped grille. The roof-railings, metallic ORVMs with LED turn indicators and attractive 10 star-shaped spokes enhance the side profile. The rear too is designed handsomely with bold bumpers, niche tail lamps, spoiler and sloping tailgate. Besides, the Hyundai ix35 gets an aggressive belt-line that enhances the sporty dynamic look.

Interiors

The interiors are more attractive and the upgraded materials give it an upmarket feel. There is plenty of space in the cabin. The new design gives extra leg-space and head-space and the feeling of spaciousness is enhanced by the new dual-panel panoramic sunroof. The rear seats are foldable to increase the boot space. The display screen consists of the navigation system and music system. The instrument cluster comes with blue LED lights and there is a rear view camera for safer parking. Besides, there are plenty of intelligent storage options. Other key features include a 160 watt audio system with 6 speakers, AUX-in and USB ports.

Features and specifications

The Tucson comes with the best safety and security features. The car is equipped with electronic stability control that stabilizes the car when sudden braking or turning is involved. Front, side and curtain air bags give better protection to passengers. Among other key features are Hill Star Assist, Down Hill Brake Control, Power windows with sensors, automatic on/off headlights, cruise control and active front head-restrains.

With upgraded engines and new styling, the new Hyundai Tucson is ready to rival the likes of Toyota RAV4, Ford Escape and Nissan Rogue.
