The Mahindra Scorpio is one of the leading SUVs that have been manufactured by the automaker- Mahindra and Mahindra. Among its existing range of SUVs, the Scorpio had been the first ever to get launched.This vehicle has also been accepted in international markets. It has been able to provide its buyers with the best off-roading experience. Scorpio incorporates muscular looks, along with power-packed performance.The SUV has numerous variants, one being a pick-up truck christened Scorpio Getaway. All the variants are offered with two-wheel drive option. Only three variants- Getaway, VLX and VLX Automatic Transmission offer the mighty four-wheel drive system.From its engine to its exterior and interiors, the vehicle has it all going in its favor. It gives stiff competition to the likes of Tata Safari and Toyota Innova.It comes with a price range of Rs. 7.74 – 12.21 lakh.
Engine & Performance
The Scorpio VLX is fitted with a 2.2 liter 4 cylinder mHawk diesel engine. This car is able to thrust an amazing power output of 120 bhp. It can also accelerate from rest to a speed of 60 km/h within 5.7 seconds. The Scorpio VLX AT is equipped with the same engine. It is connected to a 6-speed fully automatic transmission. The SLE and LX are the other models that fit in this engine. The Scorpio EX is fitted with a 2.5 liter m2DiCR engine. It is able to speed up from rest to 60 km/p within 11.2 seconds. It also produces a fuel efficiency of 14 kmpl. The Scorpio Getaway is fitted with a 2.6 liter CRDe engine. It produces a power output of 115 BHP and a peak torque of 28.3 kgm.
Exterior
The vehicle has been contoured to create dramatic lines on its exterior. A body graphic gives it a sporty look. Its grille on the façade has a characteristic appearance. The slotted look of the grille gives it a dominating stance. The multi focal headlamps have been given a sunrays reflector. This provides an elegant appearance in the night. The fog lamps on the front give a clear vision of the road ahead. The door handles are chunky that adds an extra bit of style to the car. The bumper on the front gives it a tough look. It rides on 16-in wheels. This vehicle is provided in many exterior finishes so that it is able to cater to the tastes of different customers. The color choices are Diamond White, Fiery Black, Java Brown, and Rocky Beige.
Interior
The car has a seating arrangement for seven passengers. The cabin has been given a generous amount of space. The seats are wrapped in luxurious leather upholstery. Scorpio provides two choices in leather fabrics- Black Allure and Tan & Beige option. The inner door side trims are in beige color. This enhances the overall look of the interior.The steering wheel can be adjusted according to the convenience of the driver. The gear knob and the steering wheel are wrapped in leather.The other features that this car comes equipped with are sun visor, air-conditioner with heater, automatic temperature control system and a 2 DIN audio system.The centre console has been given a wooden trim. This adds to the stunning look of the interior.The instrument panel’s look has not been given any change.
Features & Specifications
