Nissan X-Trail • Price, Variants & Specifications
The Nissan X-trail is one of the best cars from Nissan, but it is yet to find a niche spot for itself on the Indian roads. The X-trail faces immense competition from the likes of the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endevour, etc. The car costs around Rs 20- Rs 30 lakh. The Nissan X-trail is quite an unimaginative car, and one will probably not go for it by just looking at it, but there are some features in the car that are quite worthy of purchasing.
Engine & Performance
The Nissan X-trail comes with a 2 litre diesel engine. This DOHC 4 cylinder engine can produce around 150 bhp of power and a maximum torque of around 320 Nm at 2000 rpm. The engine comes mated with a six speed manual transmission gearbox. The car can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 11 seconds. The car can hit 150 kmph without an issue and it can actually go to 200 km as well!
The Nissan X-trail exteriors are actually quite good, even though they are not that unique. It is certainly not a well- composed SUV either. Since there has been a lot of competition among SUVs in India, it is important for the Nissan X-trail to do all it can to meet its competition. This car is certainly lacking in that field. The front bumper is very simplistic and the fog lights are just round. The rear portion is actually quite bulky. The rear portion of the car is really bulky, which makes the front- rear portions of the car look disproportionate. The rear of the car comes with long tail lights and a spoiler as well. The ORVMs and the door handles are body coloured. There are lines on the sides of the car as well, supposedly to improve the aerodynamic nature of the car, which is not entirely satisfied thanks to the rather boxy front portion of the car.
Things are much better in the interiors of this car. It has dual tone interiors and good upholstery. There is a lot of legroom and shoulder room for the 5 people that the SUV can seat. The seats are also really comfortable and have really good thigh and back support as well. The instrument dials are really good. There is a steering wheel in the car is also coated in the same upholstery. There is a lot of legroom towards the back of the car as well, which is certainly a huge plus point. The problem is just the fact that the car can only seat five people, which is on the smaller end for an SUV, especially in the Indian market. There are carpets on the floors of the car, cup holders, ticket holders, sun-visor, dashboard as well.
Features & Specifications
The car has a really good sun roof. The Nissan X- trail has a lot of important features as well, including rear AC ducts, auto air conditioning, power adjustable front seats, adjustable outside rear view mirrors, tilt able steering wheels, rear parking sensor, rear camera, keyless entry, cruise control, etc. The car has a 2Din music system that has radio, CD player, MP3 player, six speakers, Bluetooth connectivity, steering controls mounted on the audio, etc. The car also comes with a range of safety features as well. The car has dual front airbags, side and curtain airbags and ESP.
In short, this is certainly not a good looking car. There is a lot left to be done in terms of looks and the features could certainly be enhanced, especially when it comes with the current price tag.
