Renault is a French automaker producing cars, vans and buses/coaches. Renault entered Indian automobile market in the year 2005. Renault launched its first car, Logan in india in the year 2007. Logan, was launched through Mahindra Renault, a JV between Renault and Indian automobile manufacturer Mahindra & Mahindra. In 2010 February, Renault ended its joint venture with Mahindra & Mahindra and announced the consolidation of its presence in the Indian market. Renault is in alliance with Nissan and Renault Nissan manufacturing capacity is located at Chennai. The plant will have a capacity of 4,00,000 cars per annum.

 

Renault plans to launch 2 models in 2011 followed by a full range of vehicles for each segment by 2013. The 2 car models to be launched by Renault in 2011 are Renault Fluence and Renault Koleos.

Warehouse fire not to hit Nissan, Renault car production

Production of cars at the Renault Nissan Automotive India Pvt Ltd (RNAIPL) will not be impacted due to the fire that gutted down the warehouse belonging to Yusen Logistics (India) Ltd, a senior official of Nissan Motor India Friday said.
