Inspiring & Motivational Messages
The Window
A young couple moves into a new neighborhood.
The next morning, while they are eating breakfast, the young woman sees her neighbor hang the wash outside. That laundry is not very clean, she said,
She doesn’t know how to wash correctly. Perhaps she needs better laundry soap.
Her husband looked on, but remained silent.
Every time her neighbor would hang her wash to dry, the young woman would make the same comments.
About one month later, the woman was surprised to see a nice clean wash on the line and said to her husband: Look! She has learned how to wash correctly. I wonder who taught her this.
The husband said:
I got up early this morning and cleaned our windows!
And so it is with life:
What we see when watching others, depends on the purity of the window through which we look. Before we give any criticism, it might be a good idea to check our state of mind and ask ourselves if we are ready to see the good rather than to be looking for something in the person we are about to judge.

Good bye Mom
It looks like a sad story... but do continue reading to the
end!.....It's a lesson to learn..................
I was walking through the supermarket to pick up a few things when I
noticed an old lady following me around. Thinking nothing of it, I
ignored her and continued on. Finally I went to the checkout line, but
she got in front of me.
"Pardon me," she said, "I'm sorry if my staring at you has made you feel
uncomfortable. It's just that you look like my son, who just died
recently."
"I'm very sorry," I said to her, "Is there anything I can do for you?"
"Yes," she said, "As I'm leaving, can you say 'Good bye, Mom?' It would
make me feel so much better."
"Sure," I said. An odd request, but no harm would come of it.
As the old woman was leaving, I called out, "Good Bye, Mom!"
As I stepped up to the checkout counter, I saw that my total was
Rs-5027.50
"How can that be?" I asked, "I only purchased a few things!"
"Your mother said that you would pay for her," said the clerk.

More from less!!
A key factor which adds value to performance is complete utilization of resources. Following is a powerful illustration!
Buddha, one day, was sitting in deep thought when one of his disciples approached him and said humbly, "Oh my teacher! While you are so much concerned about the world and others, why don't you look in to the welfare and needs of
your own disciples also."
Buddha: "OK.. Tell me how I can help you"
Disciple: "Master! My attire is worn out and it is beyond decency to wear the same. Can I get a new one, please?"
Buddha found that the robe was indeed in a bad condition and needed replacement. He asked the store keeper to give the disciple a new robe to wear. The disciple thanked Buddha and retired to his room.
Though he met his disciple's requirement, Buddha was not all that contended on his decision. He realized he had missed out some point. A while after, he realized what he should have asked the disciple. He went to his disciple's place and asked him, "Is your new attire comfortable? Do you need anything more ?"
“Thank you, my Master. The attire is indeed very comfortable. I need nothing more," replied the student.
Buddha then asked him, "Having got the new one, what did you do with your old attire?"
the student replied, "I am using it as my bed spread."
The Master then asked, “Have you disposed off your old bed spread then?"
“No.. no.. Master,” the student responded. “I am using my old bedspread as my window curtain.”
Buddha then asked, "What about your old curtain?"
“It is being used to handle hot utensils in the kitchen," was the reply.
“Oh.. I see..,” said the Master. “Can you tell me what did they do with the old cloth they used in the kitchen?"
“It is being used to scrub the floor, Master,” said the student.
“What about the old rug used to wash the floor then?" asked Buddha.
“Master, since it had worn off and was torn, we could not find any better use, but to use it as a twig to light the oil lamp, which is right now lit in your study room,” the student replied.
Lord Buddha smiled in contentment and left the room.

Happiness is in making others happy!!
Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room. One man’s bed was next to the room's only window. The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back. The men talked for hours on end.
Every afternoon when the man in the bed by the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the window.
The man in the other bed began to live for those one hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and color of the world outside.
The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake. Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats. As the man by the window described all this in exquisite detail, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine the picturesque scene.
Days and weeks passed.
One morning, the nurse found a lifeless body of the man by the window, who had died peacefully in his sleep. She was saddened and called the hospital attendants to take the body away.
As soon as it seemed appropriate, the other man asked if he could be moved next to the window. The nurse was happy to make the switch. Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look at the real world outside. He strained to slowly turn to look out the window beside the bed.
It faced a blank wall. The man asked the nurse what could have compelled his deceased roommate who had described such wonderful things outside this window.
The nurse responded that the man was blind and could not even see the wall.
She said, "Perhaps he just wanted to encourage you."
Epilogue:
There is tremendous happiness in making others happy, despite our own situations.
Shared grief is half the sorrow, but happiness when shared, is doubled.

Cracked Pot
An elderly Chinese woman had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole, which she carried across her neck. One of the pots had a crack in it while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water.
At the end of the long walk from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full.
For a full two years this went on daily, with the woman bringing home only one and a half pots of water. Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments. But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it could only do half of what it had been made to do.
After 2 years of what it perceived to be bitter failure, it spoke to the woman one day by the stream. “I am ashamed of myself, because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your house.”
The old woman smiled, “Did you notice that there are flowers on your side of the path, but not on the other pot’s side?
That’s because I have always known about your flaw, so I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back, you water them.”
“For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate the table.”
Without you being just the way you are, there would not be this beauty to grace the house.”
Each of us has our own unique flaw…
But it’s the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding.
You’ve just got to take each person for what they are and look for the good in them.
