Healthy vegetarian dish with lots of vegetables

 

Ingredients

1.1 /2 cup toor dal
2.1/2 mung dal
3. 1/2 cup chana dal
4. 2 patato
5. 250 gram pumkin
6. 2 brinjal
7. 2 Radish
8. 2 tbsp ginger
9.1 tsp cumin seeds
10. 1 tsp mustard seeds
11. 4 dry red chilies
12.1 tsp turmeric powder
13.4 bay leaves
14. 2 spoon ghee
15.1/2 cup freshly grated coconut
16.Coriander leaves(for garnishing )
17.Water - 4 cups

Directions

First soak all 3 types dals in water for 10 mins.Then cut the vegetables into square shape big slices .Now the time to put soaked dal and vegetable into a pressure cooker,add water, salt and turmeric powder as per taste.Then put some ginger paste and bay leaves into it.Cover it and cook for 10 mins in low flame.
In a pan, melt the ghee and saute the spices in this melted ghee.then add grated coconut .Mix the cooked dal and vegetable into it .Add some Coriander leaves to decorate it.

Instead of adding so many dals , if u could stick to one toor dal, that will do, and the main ingredients of dalma are : potato, yellow pumpkin, colocasia ( Arbi), brinjal, Parwal ( potol) and not RADISH , it actually spoils the taste . The tempering is with desi ghee , zeera and dry red chillies ... The masala to be sprinkled on top is basically roasted cumin seeds and dry red chillies roasted again ....
