An Indian dish, made with spinach, paneer, and a mixture of spices. It is also called Saag Paneer.
Ingredients
Palak - 500 gm
Cubed Paneer - 200 gm
Ginger - a 3/4 inch piece
Garlic - 6
Chilly powder - 1 tsp
Cumin powder - 1 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Onions - 2 medium size
Tomatoes - 2
Salt - to taste
Oil - to fry
Directions
Clean palak leaves and remove the stalks.
Grind ginger and garlic to a smooth paste adding a little water.
Add ginger garlic paste to palak along with salt, cook well over slow fire till done (evaporate water) and cool. Grind it in mixer for two minutes.
Heat two tablespoon oil and fry cubed paneer till brown. Drain and keep aside.
To remaining oil add one more tablespoon oil and heat. When oil is hot add finely cut onions and fry till light brown.
Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric, cumin and chilly powder and fry till oil floats on the top.
Then add salt and grind palak paste. Cook for few minutes add fried paneer pieces.
Serve hot with roti or nan.
