Kovalam Beach - Best beach in Kerala
Kovalam one of the finest and most beautiful beaches in Kerala, is located at 12 kilometers south of Thiruvanathapuram. With the blue waters and coconut palms, Kovalam is a sheltered bay. Kovalam is known for its silvery curve sand and greehn palms of groves. There is a beautiful bay of calm waters, formed by a high rocky land jutting into the sea,this enables one for sea bathing. The silver sands of the beach are so clean and warm, that one can take sun bathe too.
Shanghumukham Beach, Trivandrum, Kerala
A popular city beach, shanghumukham is situated 8 kilometers from the capital city. This beach provides a nice view of sunset. Also the 35 meters long sculpture of a mermaid, the "Matsya Kanyaka" adds to the beauty of the beach
Veli Lagoon, Trivandrum, Kerala

A beautiful picnic spot, Thirumullavaram beach is located 6 kilometers north of kollam town. It is quiet little beach suitable for swimming and sunbathing. Tirumullavaram temple is Vishnu \ Shiva temple, but known as Vishnu temple. It is just front of tirumullavaram beach. Vishnu facing east and shiva facing west. when look west side standing in front of shiva temple, you can see the sea and this is a really good sight. Tirumullavaram beach is known for "vavu bali" (sradham) on karkkid vavu day. Also people do "nimajajnam" of "chitabasmam" in tirumullavaram beach.
Thangasseri Beach, Kollam, Kerala
This beach is situated 5 kilometers from Kollam Town. It gains historical importance by the presence of an old Portuguese fort and churches, built in 18th century, on the seaside.
Beaches in Alappuzha(Alleppey), Kerala

Arthunkal is a small seaside village in Cherthala, which is 20 kms away from Alappuzha . It is primarily a fishing village. The Arthunkal St. Andrew's Church, which has the Italian Saint Sebastian as its patron was built in Arthukal. This church is a famous Christian pilgrimage centers in Kerala,.It is known for "Ettam Perunnal" at January 20 every year . Majority of the devotees who come to this church for worship consists of those who had recovered from serious diseases and the other who had escaped severe accidents. The maimed, the crippled and the mentally derange, also visit the church. Those are blessed from the saint show their gratitude by crawling on their knees from the local beach of the church, known as "Urulunercha", and make offering of Gold and Silver replicas of human limbs, bows and arrows etc. On the 18th day of January at the day dawns and the gates of the church are opened, thousands of pilgrims who return from the Ayyappan temple of Sabarimala throng to this sacred place, take bath from the tank attached to the church and pay their homage to the Saint. Willingdon Island - Ernakulam, Kerala
We have heard of islands formed by geographical reasons. But This island is wonderful man made island, named after lord Willingdon, the erstwhile British viceroy. The Willington island was formed by depositing the mud taken while increasing the depth of Cochin port. It forms and important part of cochin, surrounded by backwaters. Bolgatty Island - Ernakulam, Kerala, South India

Tanur Beach in Beaches in Malappuram, Kerala
One of the earliest settlements of the Portuguese, the small coastal fishing town of tanur is believed to be visited by St: Francis Xavier in 1546.You can find one of kerala's oldest temples, Keraladasapuram temple, dedicated to lord Vishnu which is situated about 3km south of Tanur.
The main attractions of this beach are a beach resort and kadalundi bird sanctuary. The resort is set in the middle of a coconut grove. The sanctuary is only a few distance away from the beach.

Beypore in Kozhikode, Beaches in Calicut, Kerala

Kappad beach, Calicut, Kerala
Kappad beach gains historic importance from the fact that Vasco-da-Gama landed here with 170 men in three vessels in 1498. The landing place is marked by a small stone monument which is considered as a memorial. This rock studded pleasant beach is also known as Kappakadavu. The sprawling rock that protrudes into the sea grabs the attention of tourists. A very ancient temple, said to be 800 years old is present on this rock. Another feature is the Kappad beach resort, which forms one of the leading ayurvedic centers of kerala.
Thikkotti Light house
This is located 22 km from Calicut. It overlooks Velliyamkallu, the rock which was built after a ship wreck, the remains of which can be seen here. Migratory birds find shelter in the Velliyamkallu rock.
Dharmadam Island, Beach in Kannur, Kerala, South India
Dharmadam Island was earlier known as Dharmattanam, the excavation revealing Buddha's images and the belief that it was because of Buddhist monastery earlier made, the island being called so. This tiny 5 acre island covered with coconut palms and green bushes is about 3 km away from Thalassery. This island gives a beautiful sight from the beach. It is easily reachable since there are frequent bus services from Thalassery.
Ezhimala Beach, Kannur, Kerala
Ezhimala, the strange seven-peaked range is known for its rare medical herbs having mythological (Ramayana) significance. The Ezhimala beach lies at the northern boundary of Kannur. An olden tower, Mount Deli light house is about 50 km from here. It is a restricted area maintained by Navy. The sea here is more blue and of a different texture. One can enjoy watching dolphins at the Ettikulam bay.

This beach, 15 km south of Kannur, is one of the longest beaches. It is the only drive-in beach in India.
Moppila bay situated near St: Angelo's fort , is a natural fishing harbor. Safe arrangements are made to anchor mechanized and country crafts which enter into the island. A high sea wall projecting from the fort separates the rough sea and inland water.
Payyambalam Beach, Kannur, Kerala
Payyambalam is a local picnic spot, 2 km from kannur. The beach is only at walking distance from fort St: Angelo. This long lovely beach, with its quiet and calm environment makes the people to enjoy their evenings here. Flat Laterite cliffs which jut into the sea at one end add to the beauty of the beach.
Bekal Beach in Kasargod, Kerala
This beautiful beach with Bekal fort in the background is being developed as international tourist spot. Bakel Fort which is 300 years old is the largest and best preserved fort in kerala. It is 16 km south of kasargode on the national high way. The fort stands on 35 acre head land that runs into the Arabian sea and is 130 feet above sea level.

This beach is situated 6 km from Bekal fort and is a remote one. The Kodi Cliff nearby provides a panoramic view of the Arabian sea.
Main attraction of this beach is the swimming pool like formation of the sea water here. It is just 3 km from Manjeswaram.
