A child brought up in the healthiest atmosphere may remain healthier throughout the life. Caring for the children, especially infants, is a struggle-some task for the parents. Children are just newcomers to the world and their body is so delicate to resist all the unwanted elements in the world. They may get allergies, become infected with several bacteria and microorganisms and may suffer number of common and uncommon diseases. Proper precautions and health practices will keep the baby away from all the dangerous health issues.

In older times the infant mortality rates were so high and alarming as lot of babies around the world underwent death in the infancy itself. Today, with advanced medications and increased awareness on child health practices, the mortality rates have come down. Parents need to prepare themselves and the home and the atmosphere even when they are expecting. A baby should be welcomed to a hygienic home and all the precautions, to make the baby grow healthy, should be arranged in homes.

Infant health and hygiene precautions

Parents need to follow certain precautionary measures to welcome the baby into the most hygienic atmosphere. Babies need extra care and extreme cleanliness to make them uninfected. Arrange a special place for the baby to sleep at home. Buy a baby bed and keep it a place which is undisturbed of loud sounds, direct sunshine, moisture etc. The place should be dry and bright enough. Use some antibacterial lotions to sterilize the bed and surroundings and keep all the dress and equipments bought for the baby in a clean and neat place.

 

Buy all the necessary hygiene products for the baby in advance. There are certain antibacterial liquids for bathing the baby and also to wash the dirty cloths of the child. Parents also should follow the necessary precautionary actions like not smoking inside the room meant for the baby and cleaning hands before touching the baby bed or equipments bought for the baby.

Hygiene practices for infants

Infancy is a period when children are so helpless to even to make a move as he/she likes. They depend on parents for every need in life. Parents need to look after the complete hygiene of the baby. Bathe baby everyday using one of the antibacterial liquids and ensure that the baby wears dry and clean cloths always. Change the diapers immediately when they get wet. Using the same diaper all the daylong may make the babies suffering from with various infections.

Let them remain in the best possible conditions that favor their health and comfort. If there are pets at home, keep them away from the infants and never let pets enter the room of your baby. Do not take food or liquids into the baby's room as you may spill it around and they may cause the growth of several microorganisms in the baby's room. Clean the room twice a day, at least, and make the room dust free.

Teaching children to be hygienic

Wellness practices are taught to the kids at the early childhood itself. Train them on the best hygienic practices. Personal hygiene practices like brushing twice a day, taking bath, wearing clean cloths, staying away from unclean conditions etc., are to be taught to the kids. Parents need to be role models at home for kids when it comes to hygiene and wellness practices.

Tell them the importance of hygiene and train them on each and every hygienic practice. If trained properly at home, kids may remain hygienic at places like school. Insist them to arrange the room properly and wipe away dust and dirt from floors and equipments they use. Everyday habits of the children are to be monitored by the parents and teach them to do everything in a hygienic way.

Children should live, eat and play in clean atmosphere. Do not let them eat food in unclean plates. Teach them the essential washing of hands and face before and after eating food. Healthy eating is the key to healthy life. Parents need to know that if eaten in unhygienic atmospheres children may get affected with diseases immediately. Kids should be provided with nutritious food at the best possible hygienic atmosphere.

Train kids to be hygienic always and infuse into them a liking for cleanliness. Convince them of the essentiality of being healthy and clean in all the possible ways. Teach them with the ways of cleaning themselves like washing hands, mouth washing, brushing, bathing etc.
