Free Malayalam Unicode Font for Mac OS X
We are proud to release the first free Malayalam Unicode font for Mac OS X - Dharani. This is made from the free and popular Unicode font, AnjaliOldLipi by Kevin. We have also created keyboard layouts in the official Inscript format and the more popular Minscript format. You can download the one that you are most comfortable with.

Keyboard Layout - Installation and usage
Download the keyboard layout of your choice (or both, if you prefer) as KeyLayout file or as Bundle. A Bundle file is a package which contains the KeyLayout file, an icon for the KeyLayout and localization information. If you have downloaded the
bundle file, extract the content of the file by double clicking on it. You will get a Malayalam.bundle (or Malayalam(Alternative).bundle) file. Copy the .keylayout or .bundle file to ~/Library/Keyboard Layouts. Open System Preference
and go to International > Input Sources and select Malayalam (or Malayalam (Alternative) if you downloaded the Minscript keylayout). Ensure that 'Show input menu in menubar option' is selected.
Now to change the input language to Malayalam, select Malayalam (or Malayalam (Alternate) for Minscript) from the input menu located next to your system clock. If you have never changed the Keyboard Layout before, it should be showing a U.S. Flag with the text 'U.S.' next to it.
