One of the terrorists involved in the attack on the airport in Pakistan's northwest city of Peshawar was from the western Russian region of Dagestan, Geo News reported Monday.

On Saturday night, 10 Taliban terrorists launched a bomb and rocket attack at the Bacha Khan Airport which is attached to the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) base. Five terrorists were killed while others fled the scene.

On Sunday, police shot dead three terrorists near the airport, while the remaining two detonated their suicide vests.

Imtiaz Altaf, a senior police officer from Peshawar, Monday told Geo News that one of the terrorists killed in the attack was from Dagestan.

He said a letter recovered from the Russian terrorist mentioned details of planned attacks on security forces.
