Tharoor visits Mozambique to attend president's swearing-in

New Delhi, Jan 13

The Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor is on a visit to the Southern African state of Mozambique to witness the inauguration ceremony of the President Emilio Guebuza Jan 14.

Tharoor, who left Delhi Tuesday night, will represent India and join other African heads of states at the swearing-in ceremony of President Guebuza for his second term.

India's Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari returned Tuesday from a tri-nation trip to Southern Africa, though he did not visit Mozambique. Ansari had travelled to Zambia, Malawi and Botswana for the seven-day trip.
