West Bengal cricketer Manoj Tiwary has been banned for one match following his dressing room explosion with anger Friday during the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy (East Zone) match, an Orissa Cricket Association official said.

The West Bengal batsman was adjudged lbw while at three runs against Jharkhand. Returning to the dressing room, an angry Tiwary damaged furniture, switchboard and other fittings there.

"Tiwary was angry with the lbw decision. He has done it at the heat of the moment. He has been punished with the one match ban and withdrawal of match fee for the series," Ashirbad Behera, the secretary of Orissa Cricket Association told reporters.

Later, OCA apprised the Bengal Cricket Association about the incident and the association tendered an apology.

Jharkhand beat West Bengal by seven wickets in the match.
