“Girls Aloud” star Cheryl Cole has reportedly dumped footballer husband Ashley Cole through SMS after his infidelities were exposed.
A close friend of the star said that she is now clear that the marriage is over and is said to have consulted divorce lawyers.
“The time for any more excuses or promises is over. She wants to have put a statement out by the end of the week so she can start moving on,” dailymail.co.uk quoted the friend as saying.
“She has no desire to humiliate Ashley further and wishes to proceed in a dignified manner."
There were also reports that Cheryl was planning to conduct a lie detector test on Ashley.
"At least by doing a lie detector test, Cheryl will know one way or another whether what Ashley tells her is true or just a pack of lies. And if he is lying, I expect their marriage will be history," said a friend.
