The Pakistan Tennis Federation said Tuesday it will demand compensation from the International Tennis Federation (ITF) for shifting of its 'home’ Davis Cup tie to New Zealand.

PTF president Dilawar Abbas, who is also a senator, said Pakistan will suffer substantial losses because of the shifting of the Davis Cup Asian Oceania Group-II semi-final against New Zealand from Lahore.

“We will demand at least $30,000 from ITF,” Abbas told Geo Super sports channel. “We have also asked the ITF to give us a choice of neutral venue for Pakistan`s Davis Cup ties."

ITF and the Davis Cup committee have shifted this July’s Pakistan Davis Cup tie to New Zealand due to security concerns.
