Mumbai, March 18

A Mumbai court Thursday extended till March 24 the police remand of the two terror suspects arrested last week for plotting to blow up oil installations and shopping malls in this west coast megapolis.

The duo - Abdul Latif (29) and Riyaz Ali (23) - were arrested by the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) last Saturday from central Mumbai and charged with plotting to target an ONGC oil installation, Thakkar Mall and Mangaldas Market.

The terror suspects were presented before the Mazagaon court where the ATS sought their police remand to interrogate them and identify a Pakistani man identified as "Uncle" from whom they received instructions.

Intelligence agencies suspect that "Uncle" could be a top aide of absconding don Dawood Ibrahim. The don is also wanted in the March 12, 1993, Mumbai serial blasts.
