Granddaughter of Mikhail Gorbachev, president of the former Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR), got married in a secret low-key affair in Moscow, a media report said Monday.
Anastasia Virganskaya, grand daughter of former Soviet leader Gorbachev, secretly got married last weekend, Lifeshowbiz.ru reported.
Virganskaya, 23, married a 24-year-old postgraduate at the Russian Academy of Public Administration. The secret wedding ceremony was held in a Moscow restaurant as the couple said they were not interested in publicity.
Gorbachev arrived at the function with a large bouquet of white and red roses and left the restaurant soon after the wedding.
Gorbachev, the seventh and last leader of the Soviet Union, is known for his reform attempts which led to the dissolution of the USSR. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1990.
