Fake currency worth Rs.200,000 seized in Uttar Pradesh

One person was arrested and fake currency with a notional value of Rs.200,000 seized from his possession in Uttar Pradesh, the police said here Wednesday.

According to the police, the accused Qumar used to bring fake notes from Pakistan and circulate them in the state.

"The police recovered 200 fake notes of Rs.1,000 denomination from his possession. During initial interrogation, he revealed that he has been visiting Pakistan frequently since 2001 and was circulating fake notes in the state," Additional Director General of Police (crime, law and order) Brijlal told reporters.
