Russell T. Davies is keen to sign Oscar winning actress Catherine Zeta-Jones for the the movie version of the BBC's hit science-fiction television series "Doctor Who".

Thesun.co.uk reports that the 45-year-old writer, who revived the "Doctor Who" series, wants Zeta-Jones to be a sidekick in the film.

He said: "Being from Wales myself, I'd love to have Catherine Zeta Jones as a companion for the Doctor. To have anyone else would be inconceivable."

If Zeta-Jones agrees to play the role, she will feature as the sidekick to the character Time Lord, played by David Tennant.
