New Delhi, May 29

A 28-year-old research executive suspected to be depressed committed suicide Sunday by hanging himself from a ceiling fan in his rented south Delhi house, police said.

The body of Kostu, an MBA who hailed from Maharashtra, was recovered from his East of Kailash house around 11 a.m. He worked as a research executive in a company in Green Park.

“Kostu who was under depression as the text messages in his mobile phone suggested that he was having a strained relationship with his female friend,” said a senior police officer.

“We received a call around 11 a.m. today (Sunday) about the suicide. We found Kotsu hanging from the ceiling fan in his rented house where he was living with his four acquaintances for the past three years,” added the officer.

“It appears that Kostu, who is from Nashik in Maharashtra, was depressed for quite some time as his relationship with a girl was not coming along well. We have informed his family members and sent his body for autopsy,” added the officer.
