Venezuelan composer and music producer Adrian Pieragostino is launching "a pitched battle" from the console of his recording studio against vulgarity and give a beautiful, romantic touch to his compositions.
"You don't have to be so crude, so current in the lyrics. The beautiful thing is the magic of saying things in a nice way, which inspires us," he told EFE.
"The ... public's tolerance for hearing rude expressions is getting worse. Hearing vulgar phrases every day is becoming more common. But there are still people left with sensitivity and good taste who are fighting to rescue the beauty in popular music. I'm a faithful fighter," he said in a telephone interview from his residence in Los Angeles.
Pieragostino does not level charges at any particular musical genre. In his opinion, there are "good and bad songs" in all of them.
And he also does not discriminate when he writes his numbers, having collaborated with balladeers like Shaila Durcal, Sergio Dalma and Luis Miguel, as well as with figures from the Mexican regional genre like La Original Banda El Limon, Marco Antonio Solis and K-Paz de la Sierra.
At present, Pieragostino is inspired and is composing for several artists. One of his most recent works is the song "El mejor perfume", which he wrote with Luis Carlos Monroig for Banda El Limon. It's a song loaded with romanticism and beautiful images. Just the way he likes it.
