Leading technology solutions firm Sonata Software Ltd. has formed a joint venture with Mohammad Nasser Abdullah Al Misnad to provide enterprise services in the Arab state, the company said Wednesday.
“We will create on-shore and near-shore capabilities in the joint venture and provide opportunities for local expertise to work on key technology projects, as Qatar is a strategic market for our growth,” Sonata chief executive Sanjay Viswanathan said in a statement here.
The company will leverage its global practices, processes, frameworks, tools and people to enable its joint venture - Sonata Software (Qatar) WLL to achieve technological excellence.
“We are making strategic investments in building expertise and forging partnerships in cloud-related technologies and mobility. Along with product engineering and multi-mobile platform expertise, we will offer high-end services to companies in Qatar for supporting their critical business functions,” said Viswanathan.
The Bangalore-based company already has presence in the Gulf region with 17 clients, including a national airline where about 50 of its engineers have been providing end-to-end enterprise solutions from Qatar’s capital Doha.
“Our delivery approach involves pre-built solution accelerators for vertical markets such as construction, manufacturing and distribution and a global delivery model to help reduce cost, time and risk involved in such projects,” Viswanathan said.
Operating from Doha, the joint venture will deliver services around enterprise resource planning (ERP) implementation and support, e-commerce, collaboration solutions, business intelligence, mobility and cloud-computing solutions to existing and prospective clients in the region.
“We are targeting about 100 enterprises besides multinationals, which have a strong presence in the country and state-run corporations,” Viswanathan added.
