Diju, Gutta upset top seed in Korea Super Series badminton

India's V.Diju and Jwala Gutta Thursday upset top seed Nova Widianto and Liliyana Natsir of Indonesia 21-10, 21-16, 21-9 to move into the mixed doubles quarterfinal of the Yonex Korea Super Series badminton tournament in Seoul.

Diju and Gutta will now meet eighth seed Wijaya Rendra and Meiliana Jauhari of Indonesia for a place in the semi-final.

However, it was the only high point for India as fifth seed and World No.10 Saina Nehwal lost her second round match in the women's section. Saina, who got a walkover in the first round, went down to Indonesia's Adrianti Firdasari 21-18, 18-21, 12-21.

In men's singles, Arvind Bhat lost to seventh seed Przemyslaw Wacha of Poland 21-11, 14-21, 21-23 in the second round.

Rupesh Kumar and Thomas Sanave lost to third seed Lars Paakse and Jonas Rasmussen of Denmark 10-21, 14-21 in men's doubles.
