Pakistan's new spymaster takes charge

Islamabad, March 19

Lt Gen Zaheerul Islam Monday assumed charge as the new chief of Pakistan's powerful spy agency, the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).

Islam was earlier serving as the corp commander at Karachi, reported Geo News.

He succeeded Lt Gen Shuja Pasha who retired Sunday. Pasha was a close confidant of army chief General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani.
