Beijing, May 3
Floods triggered by heavy rains have wreaked havoc in eastern China, affecting 400,000 people and destroying crops over thousands of hectares of land.
Heavy rains have been lashing Fujian province since April, officials said Thursday.
About 25,000 hectares of crops have been affected, causing economic losses of up to 1.3 billion yuan (about $200 million). A rain-triggered landslide on April 24 in Fujian killed six people, Xinhua reported.
