Kolkata, May 4
Four hardware hubs with 60 units each will be set up in West Bengal, the government said Friday.
"The state already has the land for these hubs," Industry Minister Partha Chatterjee told reporters here.
The hubs would come up at Sonarpur in South 24 Parganas, Kalyani in Nadia and Bolpur in Birbhum and at West Midnapore, he said on the sidelines of the 15th edition of Compass, a four-day IT fair.
The government's much-awaited IT policy was in its final stages of drafting, he said.
An expert committee drawing up the policy includes N.R. Narayana Murthy, the Infosys co-founder, and Sam Pitroda, adviser to the prime minister on public information, infrastructure and innovations.
