Mohun Bagan beat Pune FC 2-0 in their concluding match of I-League football at the Salt Lake Stadium here Sunday, with Brazilian striker Jose Ramirez Barreto, playing his farewell match, scoring six minutes into game.
The victory helped Mohun Bagan to finish their campaign with 47 points from 26 matches while Pune FC finished on 46 points from 26 outings.
Barreto, on a delightful pass by Hudson Lima, bulged the right corner of the net to give home side an early lead.
Pune FC tried to make a comeback in the game but some poor finishing upfront cost them dearly. The half ended in favour of the maroon brigade.
Changing over, the story remained the same with Pune dominating the home side but poor finishing let them down.
However, a minute before the regulation time, Odafa Okolie doubled the score for Mohun Bagan. On a perfect pass from India International Syed Rahim Nabi, he gave no chance to Pune custodian Subrata Paul.
Barreto was adjudged Man-of-the-Match.
