New Delhi, May 12
A total of 4,021 cases related to civil, matrimonial and other disputes were disposed of at a Lok Adalat conducted here Saturday by the Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DLSA).
"Fifty-eight benches disposed of 4,021 cases relating to civil, electricity, labour, matrimonial, traffic and criminal compoundable offences, and matters relating to recovery," a DLSA spokesperson said. These cases were pending in various courts.
In all, 41 cases pertaining to the motor accident claims were disposed of in which total compensation of Rs.4,520,500 was awarded.
"In addition, 197 criminal cases were disposed of by way of plea bargaining in the special sitting," he added.
