Delhi wakes up to a hot Sunday

The capital woke up to a hot, sunny Sunday with the minimum temperature shooting three notches above the average at 30.5 degrees Celsius. The Met Office has forecast the maximum temperature to be around 42 degrees Celsius.

"Mainly clear skies with the maximum temperature expected to be around 42 degrees Celsius," an official at the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) told IANS.

The humidity recorded at 8.30 a.m. was 34 percent.

Saturday's maximum temperature was two notches above the average at 42.7 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature was five notches above average at 32.5 degrees Celsius.
