New Delhi, May 29
A bank employee's driver was abducted and his vehicle robbed by three assailants from outside a hotel here, police said Tuesday. The driver was later released.
Driver Narayan Mukhiya was sitting in the car of Vikash Gupta in the parking lot of a hotel in south Delhi's Vasant Kunj area when the incident took place around 11 p.m. Sunday, police said.
The assailants approached the driver, a resident of Bihar, on the pretext of inquiring about the time.
"The assailants held Mukhiya hostage on gun point after he opened the car's door to tell them the time. They took him with them to an isolated place and fled with the car, leaving him behind," said a police official.
