Allahabad, June 13

Three girls were injured here Wednesday when a crude bomb lying in a garbage dump went off, police said. The explosion is the third in Allahabad in the past three weeks.

Mahim Fatima, 5, Mantasha, 10, and Chitra, 6, were injured in the explosion in Bakshikala neighbourhood in Daraganj area. They were discharged from hospital after first aid.

The victims were playing when something "blew up" and hurt them. No traces of explosive were found at the spot, police said.

Five children were injured last Thursday when a bomb went off in the Ghoorpur village.

On May 23, a blast in Kairali area killed five people and injured six.
