Terming the election of Pranab Mukherjee to the post of president as "unfortunate", Team Anna member Arvind Kejriwal alleged that his supporters have deceived the country.

"It is very unfortunate that with so many corruption charges, he (Mukherjee) has been elected president and I personally feel that all those who have supported and backed him have cheated their nation," said Kejriwal, who along with other team members, is set go on an indefinite fast from Wednesday.

"It would have been better had the investigation against him finished and he found not guilty. Only then he should have been appointed as president and the entire nation would have been proud to have him as president," he added.

Kejriwal also questioned Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav over his flip-flop on backing the presidential candidate.

"In the morning, Mulayam ji said that he will support APJ Abdul Kalam, and in the evening he says that he supports Pranab Mukherjee. So what changed during this period of time? The nation wants to know this," he said.
