Six killed in Rajasthan accident

Six people were killed while at least 10 others were injured in a head-on collision between an SUV and a bus in Rajasthan's Churu district Friday, police said.

According to police, the accident occurred near Ratangarh town in the district, some 200 kilometers from Jaipur.

"All the deceased were in the SUV and belonged to Sangrur area in Punjab. They had gone to Kerala on a trip and were returning home when their vehicle collided with a Rajasthan Roadways bus around 4 p.m.," said a police officer.

The deceased have been identified as Vikram Singh, 30, Mohit Singh, 21, Makeet Singh, 20, Kuldeep Singh, 25, Bhutta Singh, 27, and Suraj Prakash, 40, the officer said.

"At least 10 passengers of the bus were injured. They are undergoing treatment at a hospital in Churu. A first information report (FIR) has been registered against the bus driver for rash and negligent driving," said the officer.
