Police use force to stop Kejriwal, activists

Police Sunday used tear gas and water canons to disperse anti-corruption activists led by Arvind Kejriwal here Sunday.

The India Against Corruption (IAC) supporters held demonstrations near the residences of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress president Sonia Gandhi and BJP chief Nitin Gadkari.

The police action came after Kejriwal and others marched again to the prime minister's residence after being detained once earlier from the same spot.

Trouble broke out when the activists tried to breach a police barricade. Police then sprayed water at them and fired tear gas.
