Tripoli, Sep 2

A car bomb blast in a commercial street in Libya's eastern city of Benghazi Sunday killed the driver and injured a passenger, Xinhua reported.

The blast took place in Zamar Abdu-Nasser street, a popular place where people come to shop and eat.

The driver was killed when the bomb he was carrying went off. The street was later sealed off.

Xinhua said personal and militia ownership of arms has been one of the problems confronting the Libyan interim government, which succeeded long-time leader Muammar Gaddafi after he was killed last year.
