New Delhi, Sep 12

Noting that a large number of filmmakers are choosing the capital to shoot their movies, the Delhi government Wednesday gave the green signal for simplifying the norms required to shoot in the city.

Chief Secretary P.K. Tripathi has directed concerned agencies to make the procedures of getting clearance for shooting in various city locales simple and easier.

The direction came after the complaints received from various filmmakers saying that it was a difficult task for them to get clearances for shooting in any location.

Various documentary as well as commercial film makers have shown interest in shooting in Delhi in recent years.

They have to face lot of hassles due to existing norms for permission. The permission for shooting requires clearances from various civic agencies like Public Works Department (PWD), police, New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and Archaeological Survey of India.
