Lok Sabha speaker to lead MPs delegation to Canada

Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar will lead a delegation to the 127th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Quebec City, Canada, from Oct 21 to 26, official sources said Friday.

The assembly will hold a special debate on the political, economic and social situation in the world with reference to the overall theme of 'Citizenship, Identity and Linguistic and Cultural Diversity in a Globalised World'.

The delegation will include parliamentarians Mani Shankar Aiyar (Congress), M. Jagannath (Congress), Partap Singh Bajwa (Congress), Ravi Shankar Prasad (BJP), Jose K. Mani (Kerala Congress-M), Mehboob Beg (National Conference), T.K. Viswanathan, secretary-general, Lok Sabha and Shumsher K. Sheriff, secretary-general, Rajya Sabha.
