Moscow, Dec 7

The Moscow police has secured the release of a kidnapped Indian and arrested two suspects in this connection, the interior ministry's press service said Friday.

The identity of the kidnapped man, rescued Thursday, was not disclosed by the authorities.

The suspects are believed to have kidnapped the man last August and held him in a basement garage, demanding $300,000 from his relatives via email for his release, the ministry said.

They had threatened to kill the captive, if his family failed to pay the ransom.
