Relief for Delhiites as mercury level drops

Delhiites heaved a sigh of relief Saturday as according to the weatherman temperatures dropped slightly below average, bringing some respite from the heat.

An official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the maximum temperature Saturday dropped a degree below average, to 37.2 degree Celsius.

"Unlike the last few days when temperatures have been going as high as five degrees above normal, today has been a pleasant change. Temperatures will remain more or less the same tomorrow (Sunday)," the official said.

The minimum temperature similarly dropped a notch below average, at 21.3 degree Celsius.
