Chhattisgarh reshuffles dozens of police officers

Raipur, June 14

Chhattisgarh's ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Sunday reshuffled eight Indian Police Service (IPS) officers and 36 state police service officers.

Rahul Sharma, police chief of the state's worst Maoist insurgency-hit Dantewada district, has been shifted to Raigarh district. Narayanpur police chief Amresh Mishra will replace him.

Rahul Bhagat, the head of the Special Task Force (STF) will be Narayanpur's new police chief. Narayanpur is one of the Maoists' strongholds.

Sushil Dwivedi has been posted as the police chief of Jashpur district.
