Tata Communications ties up with BT, Telx

Indian telephony and internet services provider Tata Communications Thursday forged two separate deals with Britain-based BT Group and American network services major Telx.

The $1-billion deal with BT will see the British company outsourcing its entire voice traffic to Tata Communications, while the latter will utilise BT's infrastructure for its calls to Britain.

“Tata Communications will become BT's primary supplier of International Direct Dial and other voice termination services outside BT's own footprint countries and BT will become Tata's main distribution channel for its traffic into the UK, expanding into other markets across Europe as the relationship matures," Tata Communications said in a statement.

The deal with Telx would enable Tata customers to utilise Telx data centres in the US, while the Telx clientele would get access to Tata's facilities in India, Asia, Europe and the Middle East.

A data centre is a facility used for housing a large amount of electronic equipment, mainly computers and communications equipment, for providing access to such infrastructure to clients.

"This agreement enables Tata Communications to leverage its position of strength in the global communications market while extending its reach in the US through local facilities of Telx," Vinod Kumar, president and chief operating officer of Tata Communications, said in another statement.

docomo tried to captured the market wit thr pay per second pulse n the are succeeded in it n nw tata docomo is in gr8 demand..even though the netwrk had bit trouble in the begning bt the demand for the service is never ending..
