A man was arrested in Varanasi Sunday evening and over 10 kg of cannabis, worth Rs.20 lakh, was recovered from him, the Uttar Pradesh police said.

"Acting on a tip-off, we arrested Kedarnath Agarwal and recovered the drugs. He also confessed to sourcing the drugs from Chapra district of Bihar and smuggling it to various parts of the country," police inspector Shailendra Singh of the Special task Force (STF) told IANS by telephone.

"We have got the names of other criminals involved in the trade and hope to make more arrests soon," he added.
