Patna, June 29
Debananda Konwar took oath as the new governor of Bihar here Monday, an official said.
The oath was administered by acting Chief Justice of Bihar High Court Shiva Kirti Singh at Raj Bhawan. Konwar replaces R.L. Bhatia whose term expired last week.
Konwar, along with his wife, arrived here Sunday after he was appointed the governor of Bihar. They were accorded a warm welcome.
Konwar, a four time legislator from Assam, was finance minister in the Tarun Gogoi-led government.
