Raipur, June 30

A poacher has been arrested with six pair of deer horns costing Rs.150,000 in Chhattisgarh's Durg district, police said Tuesday.

Crime Branch officials arrested Ravishankar Taram late Monday after a senior official acted as a decoy customer and struck a deal with him.

Police had been on the look out for Taram, who belongs to Malgaon village of Durg's Balod area, for a year.

An official said Taram had poached over a dozen deer in Balod's forested areas, about 100 km from the state capital Raipur.
