Kerala to set up Rs.250-crore trade centre

The Kerala State Industrial Development Corp (KSDIC) has tied up with Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Ltd (FACT) to set up a world class trade and exhibition centre in Kochi at an investment of Rs.250 crore, it was announced Tuesday.

KSDIC said in a statement that it would form a joint venture with FACT to execute the project.

The trade centre will come up at FACT's 30 acres in Udyogamandal in Kochi, the release said.

Other state public sector companies will also have stake in the joint venture.

The project will have a convention centre capable of accommodating 4,000 people, a five-star hotel, and a shopping complex, among other facilities.
