New Delhi, July 5
A week-long orientation programme for first-time MPs begins in the Parliament House here Monday.
The MPs will be given tips on how to ask questions in the house and explained other parliamentary proceedings during the course being organised by the Lok Sabha Secretariat.
Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar will inaugurate the programme.
Besides parliamentary questions and other procedural devices available to members to raise issues on the floor of the house, they will also be briefed on parliamentary committees, parliamentary privileges and budgetary process.
Eminent parliamentarians will interact with the new members on specific themes during the orientation programme.
